Men Too is a registered charity which was set up following work undertaken by the charity WEB Merseyside who identified that Men were not getting the support they needed within their local community. Men Too was founded to help Men with their well-being and mental health, making sure Men know they are not alone and provides a safe environment where Men can access support and personal development.
Men Too Services for Men operates from it’s partner charity WEB Merseyside’s Training Centre which is located on Argyle Street, close to Hamilton Square Railway Station and Birkenhead Bus Station.
In 2017, nearly 6000 suicides were recorded in Great Britain. Of these, 75% were men. Unfortunately, Suicide is the largest cause of death for men under 50.
If you’re in distress and need immediate help or are feeling like ending your life, please call 999, go to A&E or call Samaritans Helpline on 116-123.
Remember Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem, you may feel in a dark place but there is always help and people who want to listen and support you in any way possible. The comeback is always greater than the setback and here at Men Too we pride ourselves in helping you see light again.
Society’s expectations and traditional gender roles play a role in why men are less likely to discuss or seek help for their mental health problems. Men are often expected to be the breadwinners and to be strong, dominant and in control. While these aren’t inherently bad things and not always the case, they can make it harder for men to reach out for help and open up. Our external factors play a huge role in our self-esteem with social media playing a big factor in mental health problems because of comparing lifestyles or looks to others.

Men may also be more likely to use potentially harmful coping methods such as drugs or alcohol and less likely to talk to family or friends about their mental health.
At Men Too we like to spread the message that its ok for Men to talk about their feelings, show emotions and be vulnerable at times. Mental health problems come in a range of complex subjects, so we try to create our services to suit different needs whether its one-on-one counselling, group work or learning through our amazing programs designed to help with emotional wellbeing. We welcome anyone to use our services and always set our standards high by ensuring ethical practice while setting ground rules such as confidentiality, respect, and a non-judgmental approach.
