If you have any substance or alcohol addictions, you need to recover from or need support with then we cannot see you for counselling until it is under control. Please note we cannot discuss any legal matters in the counselling sessions so if you are going through any legal proceedings, please be mindful of not going into detail.

We cannot sign you up for counselling if you are already having counselling or due to start. We highly recommend you stick to one counsellor and one session per week.

Please Note: We work alongside WEB Merseyside to reduce duplication, share skills and knowledge between the two charities. If you do not meet this criteria and want to learn more about WEB Merseyside’s services such as the Women Service and Youth provision; please click on the ‘Useful Resources’ at the top of the page and select WEB Merseyside.

About the counselling service:

In conjunction with our partner charity – WEB Merseyside, we offer counselling to men over the age of 18 who are not accessing counselling elsewhere.  If you are interested in this service, you will complete an assessment at a welcome session and be placed on a waiting list where you will be matched with a counsellor.  You can decide to access counselling at any point and not just at the welcome session. To do this you must have accessed our services within two years, just speak to a member of staff or volunteer to register your interest.

Our counselling services are free of charge, and we talk you through what is involved and if it’s the right time for you to commit to counselling when you attend your welcome session or when you request it.

If you are suitable for counselling, we can offer help with lots of subject such as:

Depression, anxiety, stress, bereavement, loss, abuse, health related issues, confidence and self-esteem, relationships issues, work related issues, trauma, self-harming or suicidal thoughts, overthinking, negative thoughts, phobias, personal development and many more life challenging events.

If we feel your needs may be too complex for any of our counsellors, we would be happy to signpost you to a service that is more suitable to your needs.

Please note we are not trained to diagnose you with any health problems, disabilities or any neurodevelopmental conditions. If you suspect you may need assistance to explore your concerns, then you must visit you GP.

If you would like to arrange a welcome session to access our services, please click on the ‘referral’ at the top of the page and fill an online form to submit to us. Alternatively, if you have any questions or need assistance to fill out a form, please feel free to contact us on 0151 653 3771.
