men Too Film 'A Bots day out'

The Neuro Bots Project is a creative mental health initiative developed by Men Too Merseyside that combines recycling, creativity, storytelling and lived experience to encourage conversations about mental health, neurodiversity and disability.

What began as a simple idea—to transform discarded electronic waste into imaginative robot characters—grew into a multi-disciplinary project involving sculpture, creative writing, photography, filmmaking, voice acting and community engagement.

Each Neuro Bot was designed and created alongside people with lived experience of mental health challenges, neurodiverse conditions or disabilities. Rather than focusing on limitations, every character celebrates the unique strengths, abilities and perspectives that can emerge from those experiences.

The project was designed to make conversations about mental health more accessible, particularly for children, young people and families. By using colourful characters and engaging stories, difficult subjects can be explored in a positive, creative and age-appropriate way.
